Down loading updated drivers.

Im trying to dl new drivers for this laptop and when I click to do it it goes to windows media player ? I have sent the dl to the desktop and it still opens there under media player.

 

Specifically what drivers? From where?

Im trying to get the drivers for the sound and one part of the touch pad doesn't work.. When I go to D/L them it goes to windows media player/

I have tryed IE and google and get the same problem. Someone said the program I used to open the dl is wrong and it goes to windows media player?

 

ok I think heres my problem .. I go to dell and d/l the drivers i need and when I click on my d/l it goes to windows media player to open it. I can change the program to open it but I dont know what to use.

 

I have an HP Pavillion dv6000- XP.
When I sent it in to be repaired, they put in Vista, Windows7= I had to manually go through and delete all that- They also took off ALL my anti-spyware and registry cleaners and stuff.
SIGH- so, I also added Windows Pareloglic- great for cleaning, and registry and whatnot- (I also use uniblue)- and ccleaner, and anti malware- however, when all is done, I am asked "Do you want to manually install new drivers?"
Why am I asked that? Why, if safe, they just can't install the new drivers?
Hope I gave enough information- My question is, why am I being asked "do I WANT to install new drivers"- sure I do, but not if it will mess up my system ?? Thanks.

 

Sorry, I was just looking as how to update drivers. I tried to start a new thread, I think I did. If I was wrong , I apoligise. I looked for answers first.

 

I never meant to or try and "hijack" anyone. How do I start a new thread? I don't know. Kind of mean for you to say that. I'm no professional.
