The links to Abi Word do not work on this site and the other sites I go to.

And when I log in here and click remember me and put a checkmark in the box it never remembers me.

I have to Login again if I come back.

It never did this before I have win 7 and iE 9 is this why what do I have to do??

The link I posted above gives the choice of four download locations. Are you saying that none of them work? Win 7 with IE9 btw is no different from XP or Vista with IE in the way it handles downloads

Yes None of the 4. Links for Abi Word work.

It opens a page that tells me it will start in a fue MIN.

And it never does so I click on the Link that says If The Download Does Not Start Click Here.

    And that does not work.

Pluss every time I come back to this site it asks me to Log In and I put a check Marck in Remember Me.

What is going on I think they are both connected??

I had to fire up IE9 to see what you may be seeing - I don't use it normally. When I click on Download from Authors Site a new bar opens at the bottom of the page asking whether I want to run it or save it. You have to respond to that before anything will happen.

I don't know why your MG login is not being remembered.

OK I now got my Download Links to work that you.

But why wont this site remember my password?

I guess it's exactly the same problem - a bar at the bottom asking if you want IE to remember the password and you aren't responding to it.

The Remember Me prompt is just for your User Name, Not your password.

That isn't what I'm referring to. In IE9, the first time you log in to MG a bar pops across the bottom of the screen asking if you want IE to remember your password. On subsequent logins your password is entered automatically, along with your username if you have also ticked Remember Me.

The OP hasn't spotted it and neither it seems have you.

I put my password in and username and put a check in the box remember me.

But there is no Bar puping up at the top or Bottum of the iE screen asking me to remember me.

What could it be do I have to ajust my settings some were?

I just left it as Default in iE I never mass with it?

mmm...this save prompt doesn't seem to appear consistently in IE so I can't really advise how to get it to show. Can only suggest you try Firefox or Google Chrome, then you wouldn't have this problem

In IE9 go to Tools > Internet Options > Content tab > Autocomplete Settings button and ensure you have checked the bottom two items.

robert - reading about this password problem it's clear there is no simple, straightforward cure for it. If you are up to it read THIS, as it may (or may not) fix it for you.

As i said, Firefox and Chrome do not have this problem, so you really should consider changing your browser. Very few if any of the regular helpers here use IE, and there are good reasons for that.

Case #6 is interesting but doesn't hold out much hope of a fix.
