In an effort to further clean up some spyware problems that have compromised some of the .exe and .dll files in System32 and elsewhere I want to re-install IE6 SP1...Is there any advantage or real benefit from downloading the IE6 SP1 file (from Microsoft Update) and later doing a clean installation after removing the existing IE6 SP1 from my hard drive via the add-remove utility instead of re-installing as an update and over-writing (if that is really what's done) the existing and problem plagued files?...Is this possible?...I don't really understand the possible differences.

O/S is WinXP Pro (no SP2).

    Thank you.
