download movies to audio mp3 only ?

How do I take an entire movie and play the audio only on my mp3 player ?
Is this possible, or am I an idiot ?
please be gentle with response.

 

Without doing any research, I'd personally just play the movie and use a recorder to record the audio (Creative Recorder if you have a Creative Labs sound card or Nero's Wave editor). The Sound Recorder won't work in this case since it only records 1 minute IIRC. Just record it then convert the wav to an mp3. There may be an easier way to extract the sound, but you'll have to do some diggin for that one.

You could download virtualdub from here http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/virtualdub/VirtualDub-1.6.10.zip?download

Would take about 5 minutes to save an uncompressed wav file, then convert that to mp3.
Drag and drop your file, then click file --> save wav.
