@ addifan...it seems to be legit. Get legal music downloads by watching ads.

Below quote from The Clark Howard Show Oct 09, 2007 -- Deterring your child from stealing music online:

"Fortunately you don't have to outright ban your children from getting free music online. There are several free and legal alternatives. SpiralFrog.com allows you to watch ads and get free downloads from major label artists."

I'll try spiralfrog again but when it first came out a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't get it to do anything. The site was probably getting hammered when the news of it first came out.

Since they charged that woman recently I'm kinda afraid to try any of them, Seems they sweep every so often, probably pick some one with the highest numbers.

Don't know what the difference is from listening to the radio or watching a video on TV, I don't think you can download from there, can you?

No, think Musk and I were hunting blues, I was tickled to find another blues lover. I look for it, sure it's buried now, we revive now and again.

I just download my music from the Tesco website. Of course there are certain restrictions but as yet, its not been much of a problem to me.

As far as I know Radio and TV stations have to pay for the content, they get the money back through advertising or subscription fees.
Shops in Australia that have the radio on are also meant to pay fees as well since they are broadcasting to 'the greater unwashed'

Not sure how Youtube gets away with it, would assume that people uploading any copyrighted content as well as Youtube themselves would be potentially liable at some stage ??? :confused

Ya, Youtube downloader keeps erroring out on me for some reason. The FF plugin is https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006
Sound is great but there are horizontal lines in the video, no biggie as I've seen the band already.
