Download Problem

    Just picked up an older laptop an Acer 5250 win 7 premium, when I try to download new programs I get the "error on page" message, then says "Done" but was not downloaded.. Any help appreciated.

    Which web browser are you using to download the programs, where is that browser set to download them, what site/s are you downloading them from?
    Are you logged into an administrator account when this happens?

    Thanks for the reply, installed Win.8 , all is well, now setting up Win 8.1
