I did a download speed test at speedtest.net and it was 1.26Mbps, yet when I download something (where everyone else is getting speeds of 1.0Mbps and faster) I only download at 150Kbps.

Are you connected to your network with wireless? Multiple devices? What is your operating system and what browser are you using?

My connection is wired, although there are 3 other computers using wireless on the same network, although none of them ever download large files. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate and Firefox. I'm beginning to think my ISP just has low speeds, although I don't know if they offer guaranteed faster min. download speeds.

Are you sure youre comparing apples to apples? There are 8 bits in a byte, if speednet is displaying your speed in bits and your actual download is displaying in bytes than that speed is correct since there are about 1260 bits in 157 bytes.
