download speed

it would seem that my friends internet speed is capped at 30kbs for downloading but his internet is alot faster then that its mainly in utorrent that his speed is low

can anyone help

P2P routes are often deliberately capped by many ISP's, especially during the busy times of the day, allowing the other users of the same pipes to have a fair share of the bandwidth.

Your friend could ask his ISP if he could upgrade to a less-capped connection (at extra cost, of course).

He could do some research and change his ISP to one which does not cap P2P downloaders.

He could reduce his use of P2P, either within the software itself by reducing the number of connections and/or reducing the up/download bandwidth allowed, or by using it only between, say midnight and 8am, when it may not be capped.

 

Please provide more info. Need to know who your ISP is and what level of service you subscribe to.

 

Also be advised that torrenting and P2P is something that seems to help malware find its way onto your machines.
