download them all

what is the trick to using this? i installed the latest version but rather than DLing linked images, it DLs the thumbs themselves. that is, if i am on a page/post with 100 thumbs of jessica alba (say), both download them all and DTA one-click capture those thumbs. who wants THAT?!

i can see some situations where you might want the images from the current page, but far far more common is wanting the LINKED images. WHERE is the setting to toggle this?!

i had this prob on and off in the past, but at some point got it to work. now i cannot engineer HOW....

Using duckduckgo.com, I entered download them all into the search term window and in a few clicks, I found this:

i should clarify. there are two menus to choose from once you start the DL: "links" and "images".

"images" leads to the thumbs DLing.
"links" DLs the "links", i suppose, but in terms of HTML. that is, everything i wind up with is a more-or-less empty file ending in "...jpg.html". what i WANT is the 200k or 300k files represented by "...jpg" itself.

this used to be so easy!

EDIT: cipher beat me to the punch! FAQ answered both questions, except insofar as i don't quite believe the HTML line. there are boards out there with 300 thumbs a page -- you can't tell me ANYONE is hand clicking/viewing/saving those!

my vague recollection is that even with HTML, it was the embessed JPG which DLed. way back when.

obviously that ain't the case as i sit here now....
