I have an eee pc that is driving me crazy.

Apart from the fact that the keyboard is absolute garbage and has a mind of it's own, the C drive is so TINY that by the time I have put on my antivirus/firewall etc it is full (The only programme that I run on it is Microsoft Money) I have no virtual memory left on this pesky piece of hardware......

The D drive is bigger but try as I may I am unable to get any of my antivirus programmes etc to download to it (I use Firefox)

How do I get everything onto the D drive instead of the C drive? Is there an option to download all programmes to another drive? Yeah, I know it's a very basic question...........

    Thanks in advance
    Onnha

PS Unfortunately this eee pc :crap was a gift, so I feel obliged to use it

    Hi oh no :)

In Firefox like the other broswers all you need to do is to either right click a download link and choose Save Link As and then browse to the location you want to save to and it becomes default or if just clicking download links and they auto start, click Tools > Options > General tab and under Downloads is Save files to and just click Browse and choose your destination and click OK and OK and all downloads will goto that location.

Yes netbooks are not powerhouses, I have a Samsung but it does have 2GB ram and a 250GB HDD, keyboard is smallish and I suffer finger slip, but you can slim down the startups to make it run quicker, what OS it running?

    Hi

Try this and open Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Managment and with your external drive plugged in right click it and choose Change Drive Letter and Path and allocate it say Z: and see if that sticks, when you do the same as I mentioned above.

Sorted my drive to K fine! Thank rnal drive will notxteYou!
(See! Keyboard really playing up today!....I was trying to say Thank You very much)

My LG external disk drive still will not behave! The instructions for system recovery are:- Press <esc> on boot up then select the boot drive.......the <esc> button does not do anything but the F8 button gets me into something "sinister" regarding booting up,safe mode etc but doesn't give me the option to choose to boot from my newly named "K" drive.....

    Hey ho.....

keyboard is the same is my laptops one-the problem s where your mouse cursor is, and if you ta off the touchpad it changes where the cursor actually is in the box, putting the end of your sentence in the middle-you just get used to it after a while.
