downloaded a chat room program...

Ok, so i have done a lot of posting here on major geeks about chat rooms and such, but this time i am seriously stumped. I just downloaded a 28 kb or so zip file from download.com, and i dont know what in the world its contents are. The read me says that there are two batch files contained within the zip. What are batch files and how am i supposed to use them? Name of the program is Chatterbox, by the way.

 

batch files are old dos files. double click on them to open. They probably won't run in windows xp.
