I recently was told about this mother board monitor and was wondering if it will help me? I burn alot with my computer. I went through 2 DVD drives so far. Is there something that I can do or get to make my drives last longer. with this software help with that?

I doubt it very much. What type of drives are you buying? Cheaper isn't always better you know. By the way Welcome to Major Geeks!

Exactly what monitoring software did you download? What do you want to monitor? Temperatures, voltages, ...?

Even with a lot of burning, your dvd/cd drives should not go that quickly.
Have a look at the airfow situation- - a front fan pushing air in to the case and over the hard drive, cables tied out of the way (or, use round IDE cables to the dvd, and the hard drive if it is IDE.) and then a good 120mm fan at the rear, if (room) helping airflow, will cool it down a bit.A side fan can also help.although more on graphics, and cpu.
If you download Everest220 from majorgeeks, it will tell you the temperatures of all your components, as well as much more.

I have downloaded Motherboard Monitor 5. I got from Demonoid. I don't know much about computers, just the basic's. I want to atleast keep this drive a little longer. Is there something I can do to keep this drive longer. My Computer is a Acer and when the drive goes, I just send it in and they send me another. It is only 7 months old. I would like to know if there is something I can purchase or download to help this out.

Nothing you can download is going to help, I would try another brand.

If it is under warrenty, it is sensible to get it replaced, otherwise, as the others say, bite the bullet go for another brand,

Well, I would like to replace it, but we just spend a bit on a 250 GB Drive for it. so i'll just keep getting more or after warrenty I will just find a better drive.
I heard there is a special fan you can put on the side to keep it cool. My computer is on all day. I shut it off at night. I am not sure what fan's I got in here now. the replacement drives i get come from ACER.

You can purchase a hard drive cooler (it fits under the hard drive and has two small fans)- fleabay, and many on-line stores will come up with suppliers.
