downloading drivers for dell 1525 reinstallation

Hi DlB:

I recently replaced the HDD and OS on my dell 1525 laptop service tag 1x642h1. I downloaded 14 files from the dell site and
have copied them to the 1525. I am confused here as to the order and process for the download to actuate the
correct application. The device manager lists 6 unknown items. 3-basic system devices, ethernet, video and network.
Can you help me understand how to correctly install these recommended updates.

The first thing to do is to install SP3 as that will set up the system so you can install the HD audio drivers.

The first driver after SP3 should be the chipset.
Then Serial ATA,audio,video,Ethernet,Wireless, then touchpad and modem in that order.

Edit: You could try downloading the Ethernet first and then go to Microsoft Update to install SP3. Or download SP3 separately but that is a very big download.
