Downloading to an iphone?

    I'm still fussing with my iphone.:cool

    There is a google app (free) that makes it possible to 'voice' search google!
    The map search has a gps locator - I always know where I am now!

    However, I would like to be able to load programs straight from my computer to the iphone - can't seem to do that through itunes. It must be possible because Apple welcomes developers of iphone apps.

    When I plug my iphone into the computer it does not register on the 'my computer' page. The plug I'm using (USB) claims to have nothing attached to it, yet itunes can access the phone.:tired

    Glad you like the iPhone, I have one, but its not my main phone now, using a Windows Mobile 6.5 HTC phone as for me its more customizable and not tied into having to install apps via iTunes (unless you jailbreak, but I wouldnt go down that route personally as it breaks Apples T&C), less of an apps store tho.

    As for Google Speach Search then its HERE (or search for Google Mobile App in the apps store) and Microsoft have a Bing one HERE (only avail in US iTunes store as yet)

    As for installing apps from your PC direct then you will need to go with Developer Apple iPhone SDK and its for Devs and not end users.

    Try THIS for the none recongnition in My Computer

    Thanks Halo!

    It is also good to know that if I think of a good iphone app to create, then all I have to do is work my way through the documentation and make one.

    The iphone still doesn't show up in 'my computer' - I've reinstalled the driver, however, I see there is support offered on the page you linked, so I'm sure it will be resolved one way or another.

    Thanks again :dood - and some people wonder what we need administrators for!
