Downloading windows xp sevice pack 2

Can anyone tell me how I can download windows xp service pack 2. I am having problems because I have Mozilla Firefox as my browser.

You can still use IE to hit windows update ya know

 

Best bet is to order the sp2 cd from microsft.
I got mine in about a week.
I've updated several computers with that disk, and have not had a problem one.

 

You can order SP2 on disk --> http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx

It will come to you in a couple of days.

Curious when I noticed this post on SP-2 install...my Dell XPS runs great w/o Service-pack 2 so is this update a highly recommended product to install overtop SP-1? Or is it a modification just nice to have? Does SP-2 greatly improve some features? I've read all the spec's on it but I'd like some real-time experience from users that are operating their computers with it installed. Much Thanks........

 

yeah you definetely want SP2... it's going to greatly improve SECURITY on your system... right now you're vulnerable to things that SP2 patches...

i was very nervous about installing SP2 because i was convinced it was going to screw up my computer.... i ordered the CD, it came in 3 days, installed, everything went smoothly...

 

I'm new to XP but i've installed sp2 on my two boxes w/o any problems, I recommend you go get it.
