downloading

ok i have a windows based comp but i have linux on it and i'd really like to be able to use it as it doesent have all the shit running that winodws xp does but i really dont know how to use it for instance download i dont understand how to install anything so could someone give me some sort of guide to help me use linux because i find it very effiencent and less hassel thanks

what are you trying to install?

what do you want to do with *nix?

 

1st i have ubuntu

2nd i tried installing i believe limewire for linux no suscess and i tried downloading theme managers for linux and no help but i'd like to install a game that i read on the site has a windows installer which i did and it has a linux installer

3rd i just want to be able to maybe play a few games and stuff nothing to huge at the moment as i am most firmilur with windows so i kinda just want to be able to play around with it

Ubuntu uses something called Symantic Package Manager. The command for it is "apt-get install " but first you need to be pointed at the right repositories for Ubuntu.

Which version of Ubuntu are you using?

 

umm i downloaded wubi the beta one off the site and it's wubi 7.04

in order to use linux do i need to know a language??
