    Hi,

    Has anyone used Downthemall

I have found when using this plugin that when I download, say png files I get .png~200, which means my paint programme will not open the file.

In preferences there is odd coding, e.g. for png an A without the bar followed by $/i, ie, A.png$/i. I tried removing the $/i, but it made no difference.

Does anyone know how to download as, say, .png?

This problem relates to images that I have stored on Photobucket.

    Thanks

I'm not having this problem. If I try to download an image that already exists, it will ask me if I want to skip(cancel), overwrite, or rename with a suggestion of filename_001.png or filename_001.jpg.

If an image, "filename_001.png", already existed then it would suggest "filename_002.png" and so on. Why you're getting the "~200", I don't know.

Are you right clicking on an image and then selecting one of the DTA options from the context menu?

What are your DTA preferences set to?

DTA is displaying the default "Filter Extension" for ".png" as /\.png$/i

Have you tried the "Restore Default Settings" option in the Filter Preferences?
These images are hosted on PhotoBucket, try downloading one and see what happens.

This is what I am seeing:

I see what you're saying. It works for a single image, but won't batch download images. Won't work for me either. Instead of "~c200", I get:
    filename.png.html or filename.jpg.html
which is the page the images are rapped in.

I got tired of fooling with it, so found an extension that does batch downloads of images successfully:Not perfect but works decent enough, once you configure it for the minimum file size, width and height of images to pick up. Unfortunately it only works with image types of jpeg, bmp, png, and gif.

When you're on PhotoBucket, it's best to select the "Your Uploads" tab before using Image-Picker. Other wise you'll only grab thumbnails of your images.

    Hi,

I don't think the mask works on Photobucket.

I might have to look at another downloader with a view to uninstalling Downthemall.

I wonder how others are managing to download without converting on their machines?

    Best wishes.

I wanted to edit this post, but I cannot (longer than 10mins).

If I could have edited this post it would have said:

    Hi,

I don't think the mask works on Photobucket.

I have just looked at another page, not on Photobucket, and notice that I can download images as file.ext, hence, these will work directly with my paint program.

It seems that the problem lies at Photobucket and the formats they use to store their(our) images.

I might look for another online storage facility that does not have a difficult file system.

Downloadthemall may not be to blame

    Best wishes.
