Drag and drop issues

Drag and drop hasn't worked on my computer for years... I've just gotten used to using cut and paste. I can move windows around, but I can't move icons. It lets me do the drag part, but when I try to drop the icon doesn't move at all. Any ideas? I'm using windows XP.

wow... amazing. No idea how or why, but typing that stuff into the command line fixed it! It actually wasn't just drag and drop that was being affected by whatever it was that you just fixed, I couldn't select things in certain programs without alt+tabbing out and alt+tabbing back into them, it was really frustrating. Thank you so much!!!

Just curious, what was it that was wrong and how did you know how to fix it?

Hi

Cause: Possibles are a corrupted file or another application installed that de-registered those needed dll ( dynamic link library ) files.

Fix: As Kestrel may have come across this issue before, she will have remembered the fix, so from remembering past issues, its fairly easy to either remember off top of head fix, or know where to find it.

I tend to save in Notepad text files, any fixes I work out myself or come across on the net, helps to fix an issue if it re-occurs again.
