Over $10,000 USD and you don't even get Vista Ultimate?!?!?! Thank God it comes with "exclusive" internal wire management (most people call these "zip ties" )

Oh... I forgot.... if you break down the word/phrase "AlienWare" from it's Latin roots:
ali = much or very much
    enn = torn or ripped
ware' = sounds like "wahhh ray" = "wahhh" means gold or money; "ray" means removed from, or off.
So this translates to: too much money, rip off

    roflmao

(you could buy a car or put down a down payment on a house; or buy 30 XBox's)

Honestly thats insane, its a good PC but WAAAAAY overkill. specially for the price.

    Here is my PC:
    Core i7 920 OC'd to 3.4Ghz
    Gigabyte Crossfire ready intel X58
    4(soon to be 8) GB of DDR3 PC10666 RAM(OCZ Special OPS)
    Geforce 280 1GB of DDR3 shared memory
(currently using onboard sound but i have older speakers that still work great)
XCLIO case(not sure which model but its got two giant fans on it for intake!
    730watt Raidmax LED PSU(modular)
    a 500GB seagate HDD
and a cheapo sata disc drive

This computer can run everything ive thrown at it at max settings(Rainbow six 2, WoW, EQ2, WAR, COD5, Elder Scrolls 4, Crysis, FEAR 2) at about 30frames minimum.

This machine cost me only 1250 USD to build. Granted i had a monitor and speakers and a 64bit version of Windows XP from my previous computer lying around.

But even if you had to buy those things, your only looking at maybe 400dollars more.

That is still under 2grand for the latest and greatest. Spending 10grand on a computer is absurd, unless its the computer that is drowned in that liquid for intense cooling.

I agree it's way overpriced but here's the challenge try and build a better PC, you can't the Alienware ALX is the top dog all round it's only limiting factor is the number of expansion slots aside from that it comes with everything.

Find a better one or spec it out, obviously the budget wouldn't be hard to stick to LOL

I am gonna have a look tomorrow to see if I can :-D

I dont see much use in having 2 295 video cards honestly, one 280 runs everything on max settings with perfect frame rates, unless your making your own Dreamworks movie or something then maybe, and as for the "extreme" 965 CPU, why bother, i OC'd my 920 to the same speed as the extreme(3.4) and i can still go higher if i wanted, and its only 279 right now on newegg.

Its overkill for anything, That would be like the USA invading Ethiopia.

I mean hey if you got the money to throw down on a machine like that, then do it! but if your on a budget(like me) then dont even think about trying to get a machine liek that :)

I have 2 things to say on such a post:

1, Overkill yes but how long will 1 GTX 280 play everything on max detail? X2 GTX 295's will play everything maxed out for at least 2 years with a descent res & FPS.

2, As with all invasions if you don't think you can do it why do it? You would never start an invasion with the same amount of firepower & manpower as "the other guy", you start with OVERKILL :-D

The dream spec is just that, a dream.

As for the CPU it comes with 3.2GHz quad as stock but Alienware have fitted watercooling so imagine the overclocking potential :)

As for your #1 i will agree with you, but when my card dies, ill just end up buying a 300 series or a 400 series if they are out, i wouldnt replace something that is outdated when i can easily upgrade to something newer for about the same cost as i spent on the original card.

As for point number 2, yea okay your right! :)

It is a dream i agree and its pretty sexxy machine, just something i would only buy if won like 250,000 dollars on the lottery :)
