Drive Cleaner?

Could someone suggest a good Drvie Cleaner. I was given a 60gig WD today that has some...we'll say questionable content on it. I would like to use it, but would much rather it be "completely" clean. Will CCleaner do that for me or will it still leave stuff behind? If I cannot make it clean then I will just give it back.

I do plan to reformat, but that won't be enough right?

Any help would be most appreciated.

CCleaner *should* cover you, but I am confused, why not wipe it entirely if it was given to you? Otherwise, if it was mine, I would do a drive search for .jpg, .gif, .mov and other files that you may not want.

I will wipe it entirely, but I just want to make sure that anything on it could not be taken off at a later date. Meaning I don't want to get into trouble for anything that might be on there now. It has Windows 98 on it and not much of anything else, except a ton of pictures. That's what is concerning me though. Most of it is questionable. Maybe I should just give it back. I know if I had stuff like that on my computer, I surely wouldn't be giving it away in that state. ;)

I would think that the easist way to be sure is to make it a Slave, and then format it.
IMHO it is much better to start fresh.
Take a look at the HDD and it should show you the jumper configuration to set it to Slave.
Then it's a simple matter of right-clicking and selecting 'format'.

Assuming that it is a secondary hard drive (you have XP installed) and you do not want to format then go here and grab this.

"Eraser http://www.heidi.ie/eraser/ permanently erases a file so that sticky beaks cannot recover it. A deleted file stays on the hard drive until it is overwritten at some future stage. Eraser fixes this and more."

Then select the Nasties and using a right click eraser will overwrite them.

If you are still concerned then open Eraser up and tell it to overwrite the whole HD.

    Cheers

Thanks man. That is exactly what I was looking for.

I had already set it to Slave just to make sure it worked. This is how I knew what was on it. ;) If I knew exactly where the drive came from originally, I would turn the person in. I know for a fact that it wasn't the one that gave it to me that was doing this kinda thing.

Thanks again for all the help.
