Hello all, Im new and this is my first post.

Does anyone know how to add some files to an already created image file (from Drive Image 2002)?

What I did was create an image using this software for the users here at work and now after Ive used it many times my supervisor has asked me to add a bunch of fonts that I forgot to make part of the image. I would like to just add the fonts somehow without having to go through the whole process of starting from scratch again. Ive looked on the website and the product documentation but I cant seem to find anything relevant to this. Ive never used imaging software before so Im not even really sure though what to look for.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Tolinrome

    Tolin,

If you burn your font files to a CD, you'll always have them. There's no point in adding them to the image at this point. Add them to the drive, then next time you image that drive, they'll be in the new image.

Don't tinker with an already-made image. If you absolutely MUST have the fonts in the image of the drive to keep your supervisor happy, then make a new image.

Images only take a few minutes if made to an auxiliary hard drive, and you can burn as many copies of the image as you need to CD from the one created image on a hard drive.

Yep I would do the same as Wisewiz and just burn the fonts to a CD and label it accordingly so everyone knows ot goes with the Image you made.

No real point in starting a new image to add a few fonts.

CD lifetime--You'll always have them ?????

Dont bank too much on the lifetime of CD-R and CD-RW's.
Check out the deterioration of a CD-R burnt in 2001 and the same CD-R in 2003.
    Websites are http://tinyurl.com/6to and www.straightdope.com.

These sites gathered from Australia's Internet Directory monthly paper magazine, February 2004, page 19.

I have not visited these sites yet, but the article causes lots of doubts on the reliability of CD's for long time storage,

Thanks guys, It was just that some people needed their pc's reimaged and besides the fonts my supervisor also wants now adobe distiller and acrobat included as part of the image. Were getting more new pc's in and now that Office XP just came out with SP3 I wanted to add these to the already created image. Im looking at Ghost server enterprise software and it says this below on the Symantec website:

"Restore individual files- Ghost Explorer lets you restore individual files from an image file."

Does this mean that I can add/delete files and programs from an image file?

    Thanks again,
    Tolinrome
