Drive space monitoring

Does anyone know of an effective and free drive space monitoring tool that can be used in XP? Essentially I want to keep track of how much free space is available on one of my other workstations in my LAN without physically having to go and check it.

I've already tried a few and most of them are designed to monitor Servers (expectedly, as it seems to be geared more towards Administrators) that require a particular OS and what not. Others I have discovered are simply shareware, but a trial version. Not everything can be free, but is there a simply utility that monitors this information in semi-real-time (or the possibility of setting the parameters to refresh said info)? Have I overlooked something?

I think you can use XP itself to periodically manually check. Right-click My Computer, then either select "Explore" or "View" (depending on the style of XP that you're using---"Explore" for Classic style). The right pane shows all the drives connected to the local computer and the free space on them. You could setup a shortcut on the desktop of the monitoring computer and just click it when you need to have a look. The remote workstation has to be mapped to the monitoring computer, of course. Sorry, I don't have a network at the moment so I can't test this, but I'm sure I've done it in the past when I've been on networks.
If you're trying to do real-time monitoring because the free space on the remote computer varies considerably from one minute to the next, the above obviously isn't the answer, but it should do the job if you just need to take an occasional peek.
