Hi Bill, it looks like a very simple registry file that can just be merged with your current registry. You've been around here for a while so forgive me if this is not the kind of instructions you need.

You want to check that ir32_32.dll is in your C:\Windows\system32 folder (if not you will have to get a copy from an XP machine and put it in there.

Copy and paste the text below in Notepad and Save as codec.reg on your Desktop
Then go to Vista Orb type in regedit and hit enter.

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\System32 by clicking the (+) sign next to each folder in the left hand pane.

Right-click the System32 folder and choose Export--Choose a filename like System32Backup.reg and save it to your Desktop as a backup copy of the original. Exit regedit.

    Hope that helps.

Right-Click codec.reg on your Desktop and select Merge. It will add a key to the registry System32 folder telling the OS to use the ir32_32.dll for applications requiring vidc.iv32
