    hey there people, dig this;
    i have a 2 y/o system put together from a computer show w/ P4-3.2 g processor, 512-ram, Radeon 9200se display adapter/ graphics card, WinXP Pro s.p.2, Norton Anti-virus 2005, Ad-Aware, Spy-Bot, firewalls, and other protections.

    my problem is that when i upgraded avs video convertor to version 4, it crashes my computer when i try to convert videos. this problem also now occurs when i try to create dvd's using ulead dvd movie factory.

    specifically, the resulting crash is the windows blue screen auto protector. upon auto restart the Microsoft error report states that there may be a problem with my video driver.

    given all of this, i am assuming that there is a software driver conflict. (or, could it be be due to the fact that i have been converting video files to MPEG 4 in avs and my version of Ulead doesn't support MPEG 4?) i do have the latest versions and upgrades of all software in question, except that i'm not sure about my video card. i went to ATI's web site and tried to download upgrades for my video card but either i'm confused or there aren't any offered.

    can anyone help me get this issue sorted out or suggest a alternative to ulead dvd movie factory; one that can handle virtually all types of videos.

    thanks

    Halo,
    thanks for your response. i downloaded and installed the drivers and am testing it now; i'll let you know how it works out.

    otherwise, when i run one of the programs i don't get an error message. the computer just jumps right into the blue screen that says windows has has encountered a problem and has been shut down to protect your computer. then it just reboots. when it gets back to the desktop, then the 'windows has recovered from a serious error' window comes up. when i click to send the log to microsoft, it is then that the crash analysis comes up to say that the error might be video/graphics related.

    Halo,
    I tested it and i still have the same problem. so maybe it wasn't the video card :rolleyes: back to the drawing board :mad: :mad:
