    Hi Guys!
So.. Here where i stand. I have a HP envy that runs with Intel Graphics and AMD and the computer allows you to switch between these depending on you want to run in powersaving-mode or high perfomance mode and it worked all fine..

But then i upgraded to Windows 8 and suddenly I can't acces the AMD Card and when i try to download the driver from the official webside but i keep getting the message that either the software is incompatible with my hardware or that the graphicadapter is not supported...

This is highly frustating because i cant GAME!

    Any suggestions?

    Thx! (-:

    Hi and welcome to MG's,
can you tell me the exact model of the vid chip. Also in device manager please tell me if your card is listed in the display adapters ??

AMD are only supporting NEW cards for W8 ... but i'm more than sure that there will be a *fix* for this soon.

Thx i have alredy used this site before and it saved my computer once, though a few years ago. (-:

I am running ATI Radeon Mobility 5650
And yes i can see it.

Is this what you were asking for?

Sorry for the late reply :( ...

I am more than sure that with your type of card "Mobility" means that it is only supported by the manufacturer of the machine that it is in.

You will need to go to HP to get any supported driver updates... here...

    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html

use the info of the machine *make and model or sku# to see if they have released a new CCC + driver for your card.

or if you give me the required info i'll hunt the fix down for you ;)

    You could also try this.....

in device manager open display adapters and rightclick >update driver >Browse to locate driver manualy > browse to this path....

    C:\Program Files\ATI

select *next* and follow the prompts ... sometimes the driver just doesn't fully install ;) and this should resolve the issue for you.

    Hi

What version Envy do you have?
A service/product code can be helpful here also as in HERE?

In device manager do you have any yellow ! marks by any device and if so what?
Its very likely if you have upgraded to Win8 that you need to install the chipset driver for your model PC then the graphics driver.

    Hi!

Sorry for the very very late answer
I am not sure in what you mean by "version"? i have the envy 14?

The link you have given finds no results. :-(

There is one ! under section: Video Cards
    and it says:
(!) ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM v1.20)

    Hi

What I meant by version is that there are 15 different models (should have used models instead of version) of Envy 14 in Denmark for sale (if bought in a different country that could be different again) and most have differing hardware, thus will have different drivers.

eg. HP ENVY 14-2014eo (bold bit is the version/model)

Should be a sticker under the laptop/notebook that has this type of code on it, with this we can get you the correct drivers.

Are you using Danish or English language on this laptop/notebook.
    Is Windows 8 32bit or 64bit?

Also you could run the below as written and attach the log and we can check for the correct drivers if your model does not have drivers for Win8 listed for it on HPs support site. I would also rather get the correct drivers opposed to guessing for you.

does HP mention something about the compatibility with windows 8? giving them a quick call might be the fastest way to a solution. with some luck your driver is still under development, however 8 is out for some time now so they should have already released it.

    Hi

Sorry for the late reply, work and work got in the way, but sadly your model HP is not Windows 8 compliant, does not mean it will not work with Windows 8, just more that HP do not support it with Windows 8 drivers,

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=dk&dlc=da&lc=da&product=4315287&task=&

    Best is Windows 7 64bit

However I would try the following:

Windows 8 64bit ATI driver HERE
    Windows 8 32bit Driver HERE

The file names sate Win7 but they are the official ones for Win8 from ATi.
