Driver Hell Code 37

I have tried pretty much everything to fix this issue that I have with my drivers. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, downloaing drivers from man website, installing in safe mode, installing in vga mode, deleting upper/lower filters in the registry etc.

I really am at my wits end with this and can only suspect that changes have been made to the registry which are causing this. Other drivers when I attempt to install such as a generic volume driver I am always told that the driver has not passed the compatability test, this happens when I try to install any driver.

The graphics driver is for the Intel 915gm chipset and it is this driver I get erorr code 37 for. I suspect that these problems may have been caused by me attempting to update my system by using an xp sp3 disk as I could not get scannow to run using the disk I decided to use the disk to update my operating system, however the install did not complete fully as it was unable to write numerous .sys/.dll files.

Please help!!!

 

sure its an asus eee 900 and I have the cd with all drivers on it from asus but that is not working either.
