Driver hell

Yesterday, I bought a Dazzel DVC 80 to put my VHS to DVD. It came with Pinnicle 8. When I went to install pinnicle 8, half way through the instillation, my computer suddenly restarts. Odd i think...When my computer finally reboots, I get all these new messages on "new hardware found", these including my DVD-RW drive, my CD-RW, drive, an audio driver, and a "Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator" driver. My computer dosnt see the drives in My Computer, and in Devide manager, is sees them, but with an exclimation point, meaning that something is wrong. Now for my DVD-RW drive (Samsung TS-H552U), I've tried to install a new driver, but to do that, the program needs to be able to see the drive, which it cant, so no hope there. With my other drive, the CD-RW (GEC-8160B), I have to do some odd procedure like boot from a floopy to install the new drive, which i find unorthidox. On everything, I've tried to do the automatic search with windows to find a drive to no avail. I've tried to install some new drives with a .BIN extension, but dont know were to go with that one. Any help would be appreciated.

 

That new program you were installing seems to have gone down like a lump of lead.

You don't say which OS you are using but if you can do a system restore, that should get things back to a normal state while you do a bit of research on the program that caused the problem. Sounds like some sort of incompatibility. Good luck.

I figured it out, though wierd. The only thing I had to do was disable the item, then activate it again and it worked like a charm.
