Driver help AC 97

I have not sound out. The volume out icon is missing. I am find driver for C-media AC97 missing. I am using windows XP. Can someone help me with a driver?

Hello Russ welcome to Major Geeks.

I assume the audio did work once?

If so try to 'roll back' the driver in device manager.
Windowskey+Pause/break>Hardware tab>devicemanager
Open the tree and find your AC97 either under sound video and game
or other devices
Select and choose properties
on the driver tab hit the rollback driver button.

If this does not work post the name and number of you motherboard (it is on board sound isn't it?)

Thanks..I was able to download driver and have fixed the problem.

I will take a look at the fix you have just given me for future problems.

For me, a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing!!!
