driver issues

    I just did a system recovery on my vaio pcg-k27,xp op 32bit,and when I try to install microsoft ativirus program it won't allow it on ,I get a error message with no SHLWAPI.dll,any ideas what to do?????::-o

    Hi

    What Service Pack is your XP at? if its not at SP2 or SP3 then update to one of those then try Microsoft Security Essentials...

    also make sure your drivers are all installed, check Device Manager for Yellow ! Marks and if you have any then you are missing drivers, the main one is the Chipset so install that first for your model Sony and reboot and then install the other missing ones.
