So my previous hard drive took a dump so long story short I received another cpu from a friend and set it up with my monitor but the display is all jacked. Everything is big and I can't change the settings in Properties. I took a look at my devices thinking maybe my monitors driver needed to be updated. I have read that my Soyo monitor is Plug and play and no driver is needed. In my list of devices I don't see my monitor at all. Everything checks out ok except for the Video controller (vga compatible) and the Multimedia audio controller. So I'm thinking maybe the oversized fonts, icons, and windows on my computer had something to do with that. I also can't increase the screen resolution or the color quality. Hoping to get some help to get me back on track. Please help.

    Greetings, Emily20.

Most likely, you need to install drivers for your video card or onboard graphics, not your monitor.

First of all, we need to know your operating system and service pack #, and the make and model # of your computer.

If possible, download and install Everest, a free system information tool. After running the program, generate a text report, and let us look at that (see HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post).
