driver problem

i dont know if this goes in hardware or here u decide. anyway im trying to install
my raid drivers and the drivers are on floppy and my floppydrive wont work it gets pwr but it wont read the floppy ? its hooked up right and everything but it just wont read the floppy disk?plz help!!thnx

 

If you have access to another computer that has a dloppy drive, check that the diskette can be read there.

If not, and it's been awhile since you used the disk drive, pick up a floppy cleaning kit (most office supply stores suchs as Staples will have them), and clean the drive.

Is your FDD (floppy disk drive) being shown in the BIOs or Windows? If it is showing here you can rule out your EIDE cabe not being connected. If it is not in those areas, then that might be the problem. Why don't you just get a new floppy drive? they retail for 6$

EDIT: I had this problem when loading my SATA drivers once upon a time. It isn't worth the hassle of troubleshooting an FDD, just get a new one
