driver problems

hi there , i have just bought a second hand laptop , it had windows xp as the os

i changed that to windows 7 and iam having problems with my wireless connection and have no sound ,i no its the drivers but i cant find them

the laptop is a AMILO Pro v2020

heres whats coming up on the device manager , any help or link would be a great help

Here is your manual. I will be out for a couple of hours but you may be able to find something in the technical section. I think the base device may be the card reader.

It would also help if you gave me the vendor and device ID of the devices in Device Manager.

not to techie minded but windows 7 is running fine but i cant have sound on my lappy or connect it by wireless ?

find this strange but the sound has just appeared on my laptop after a pop up said my driver had been found and updated , anybody any ideas as my laptop shouldn't support windows 7 apparently

 

Your out of luck for you wireless. You have an Intel 2200B chip which is not supported by Windows 7. You will probably have to purchase a USB wireless adapter.

never used a USB wireless adapter , would this make the laptop become wireless despite the driver issue with the windows 7 ?

 

I am not familiar with that product but it should work. Yes, this would give your computer wireless access even though the 2200b does not work with Windows 7. You may have to turn something off in BIOS if there is a selection to disable wireless.

out of curiosity would windows vista be compatible with the AMILO Pro v2020 ?

 

The wireless drive is supported for Vista but only 32bit.
