A bit of confusion concerning driver sweeper and what it is showing me after I analize.

I had a rdeon ati videocard on my computor and exchanged it for an Nvidia videocard. I uninstalled the ati videocard via add/remove then ran driversweeper and removed what was left.

Once the Nvidia card was added Windows installed the drivers but they weren't the updated ones for my card. So I went to the nvidia website and updated to the most recent drivers.

Had another issue and had to uninstall and reinstall the drivers again.

So what I need to know is Driver sweeper showing me leftovers that need to be removed after reinstall and updating or is it showing me what should be on my computor?

    Hi

Its a bit of both is shows current installed drivers as well as remainer of drivers that may not have been uninstalled properly, if you are having issues then use Add/Remove to uninstall the GFX drivers, then boot into safe mode (MUST boot into safe mode to remove the drivers properly with Driver Sweeper) then reboot into normal mode and install latest drivers for your brand card.

BUT if your last install of the drivers now works well, its showing you the driver files so dont uninstall.

Thanks Halo for your quick reply..Looks like thats what I will need to do.

Same card and OS on another computor and they dont play the same at all.

This one hangs, speeds up, slows down and at times is very jerky when playing 3d games or any videogames...

    Hi

Yes a clean install maybe the best route, so use add/remove to start with and then run ccleaner and its cleaner and registry cleaning options (run the registry one until nothing is listing for removal), boot into safe mode and run driver sweeper, then reboot into normal mode and install latest Nvidia driver.

Also what if any yellow ! marks do you have in Device Manager as other comonents missing drivers could add to this issue, mainly chipset.

one more question, do I also need to uninstall the Nvidia PHYSX and the 3d stereoscopic driver as well?

They r listed seperately in add and remove.

    Hi

Yes I would uninstall those too as they will be re-installed with the latest Nvidia drivers as they are now part of the driver, bets to rule out any issues with drivers,
