driver & utilitie recovery

    have formatted my pc and now cant find the driver and utility disc it came with so cant connecto internet or anything

    hp a6250 uk pavillion desktop pc

    have loaded loazds diff drivers but unable to connect to internet to sort the rest of problems out if anyone can help would be very grateful

    What Windows version is it?
    What did you use to reinstall Windows?
    Windows CD/DVD, recovery CD/DVD, recovery partition?

    Did you travel to HP site to download and install all missing drivers?

    Hi

    As mentioned you will need to let us know your Windows version and also as an addition if XP what Service Pack you are using as this is important for Audio drivers (especially as XP is not fully supported on your model PC from HP)?


    All your drivers for the supported Windows versions for your model HP are HERE

    Just choose your Windows version from the dropdown (if you are using a none supported Windows version then do let us know) and FIRST, install the Chipset driver *found under Original Drivers heading* and reboot as its important to reboot as it will fully install the Chipset driver as this one is the main one to control the smooth installation of other drivers.

    If you are using a Windows version other than Vista which this PC was supported with from HP then please advise as its harder to find the accurate drivers for Windows versions not supported from the manufacturer.

    hi many thanks will try hp again iused driver robot as recomneed by them and no luck say no ethernet card on my isp install disc


    using window vista sp2
    the harddrive was formatted as it was playing up and i cant believ i have lost the disc have looked for it but have moved house since so god knows where it is

    Hi

    As you have Vista SP3 then you are in luck as HP support that model completly with Drivers at their site linked above, just install the Chipset first and reboot, then install the other drivers, no major rule on what ones first from that point, but I would do Network, video then audio.

    Make sure Windows Vista is also upto date, with Windows Update.


    Sadly driver apps are not always accurate at all, they cannot account for all the permutations of drivers as many OEMs like HP customise the drivers and hardware they source from the makers of hardware like networking. Best always to get drivers from your PC maker.

    have tried the hp site still no joy downloaded 1 ata time and no joy am wondering if use a dongle wirelessly will that get me connected adn i can try driver genius or something tio help

    have ordered a new ethernet card for the moment as i have tried all driver sites including hp and also programmes

    Do you have any yellow ! marks in Device Manager? if so by what devices?


    TBH driver finder apps are useless, they may find some drivers but in the main they are generic and may not be the ones for OEM PCs, these apps cause more issues than enough with drivers.... as there are too many permutations to catalogue all drivers per specific PC and Hardware Spec, if it where easy then the Microsoft Cab driver database would be perfect and on installing Windows all drivers would be installed... job done! but its not that easy.
