drivers are deleting automatically

    i need urgent help.... all drivers from my xp pro based desktop PC are deleting automatically.... i scan my system with mcafee 2007 but it fail to find any virus...

    HOLY *%@$#! That sounds bad. But.... can you be more specific? Generally speaking, if a driver is removed from a PC, and then the PC is restarted, Windows will try to re-install the driver by starting the Hardware Wizard. Does this wizard open everytime you load to the XP desktop?

    no it doesn't reinstall any driver but it shows removed from the device manager... like some virus is there... though i scan the whole system through Mcafee but no virus has been found... every time i have to reinstall all the drivers...

    Just an alternate idea, but I wonder if the hard drive could be dropping the files. Have you done a scan on it lately?

    oh yeah!!! that could be the possibility!!! okay i will scan my hard disk first!!! thanx bill

    hei it worked!!! after scnaing my whole hard disk it fond some bad sectors... thanks to all of you friends!!!
