I strongly recommend that you ignore Driver Defective, and remove it. It will cause nothing but trouble, and IMO it's borderline spyware. Updating drivers for no reason is not usually advisable. The old addage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes to mind. As to the wifi driver... simply click on this link and scroll down a little bit. Download the file named 77wc39ww.exe. It will be in blue print. That's your driver! Good luck, and keep us posted. If you have any troubles or questions, feel free to post again!

I have downloaded this driver and restarted the computer. I am still not able to find wireless networks. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks!!

Go to the Device Manager (right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager) and look under the Network Adapters section. If it shows that the wireless adapter is installed, meaning that you have no red X's or yellow question marks ? or exclamation points ! then the wifi device is installed. There may be a switch somewhere on the laptop or there may be a hotkey combo you need to press to 'enable' the wifi. On many Dell laptops the hotkey is Fn + F2, other laptops use Fn + F4. Usually there's a picture of a 'wireless tower' or some other type of wifi symbol on one of the Function F keys. Or there's a button somehere you have to press. If all this has been double checked, and the wifi symbol appears in the system tray by the clock (it looks like a little PC with 'radar' waves coming from it) then the wifi adapter is working, and the problem likely somewhere else.

I have checked the device manager as mentioned and do not see any red X's or yellow question marks. As far as IBM Thinkpad wifi enable, the wireless signal icon is on and for some reason I am not seeing any available networks. I have tried at more than couple hotspots and for some reason it doesn't work. Would welcome other suggestions or comments.
