Here is my issue. I recently had my pc fixed from a virus and the system works great. However, when I am trying to capture video from a DV tape on my Sony HC62 to my external hard drive I am dropping frames like crazy. I have a brand new firewire IEEE 1394 transfer cord and it's still dropping. I checked to make sure my IRQ was not being shared by another card like a sound card or graphics driver. I also defragmented the hard drive and it's still doing it. I don't know what to do now. Any help would be appreciated.

any chance you can capture to an internal drive 1st, then transfer to your external drive when it's complete?
