    HI.
DRVDRW.SYS. Has anyone come across this paticular driver? I'm trying to update a Toshiba Point of Sale computer from Win2K to XP. The installation falls over halfway through citing this file as the problem. I have to do a dynamic update (not having the original discs for the machine) so until I get XP running I can't sort out any driver issues. Needless to say there's no info on the Toshiba website.

:wave Welcome to Major Geeks :major
I did a Google search for DRVDRW.SYS and the only real reference I found was this thread. It apparently is not a Windows file. I think maybe you typed it wrong? The other results were for Toshiba and HP parts, not drivers. Click this link to see the search results. If you could provide some more information about the system, and just more information in general including the correct file name, we'll do our best.
    :-D

    Thanks for the reply dib
This is a Toshiba point of sale terminal with a touch screen and other special bits to make it suitable as a money till. Having said that it is just a computer with an AMD cpu, 2.5" HD and all the other stuff you need. Originally it ran Win2K. Because it's needed on a networked till system it has to run XP Pro. Theoretically it should just be a straight forward OS upgrade. It gets most of the way through the setting up windows section then gives a BSOD with a 7E stop error. The file it thinks is the problem is DRVDRW.SYS (I checked more than once - that's it's name). I've seen the google search results (same as mine). I have a feeling it might be a Toshiba special driver for something which isn't XP compatible (hence the stop error). Just wondered if anyone had come across it anywhere. I have a query in with Toshiba as well to see what they say.
    kind regards

LOL Yeah, it's dLb but that's OK ;) Since I have actually spent almost an hour looking into your problem (I have a slight obsession with trying to figure things out) and I got absolutely no-where, I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully Toshiba will respond with some helpful info for you. Good Luck!

Thanks again for your time and effort. Looks like I'm going to have to get the hands dirty in DOS. I'll try renaming the file and see if windows will complete setup and then see what doesn't work. Should be fun rolleyes.
    Thanks again
