DSL modem question

    i am using the speedstream 5100 that came with signing up for sbc yahoo dsl. I did a little research and Zoom Telephonics has routers that can allow 23 Mbps .. does any one know which company i should but new modem from and what would be best bang for buck.. I saw a comparison and said ZOOM is best .. can anyone confirm or deny this ... any imput appreciated

    The Speedstream is the best out there. If looking for security, the 2Wire is even better.

    i ran test and only have 1.1 to 1.2 mgps thats far from 23

    It does not matter what is the Modem Speed capability.

    The bandwidth that you get is the one that your contract calls for (the typical service is 1.5Mb/sec.).

    All DSL Modems are capable to deliver more than what Home DSL contracts deliver and it does matter which Modem you use there is No real differences between them.

    However a Router connected to the Modem might help in getting better connection.
