dsl Speed Improvment question

I've noticed that Comcast cable has doubled the speed and COX recently went up to 5megs. Will there ever be any speed improvements with DSL?

 

actually, i believe the 3mb thing with comcast is a response to DSL's improved speed, and Cox may be trying not one-up them or something. i dunno, just a guess.

what i really want though is FTTH: 100mb/s super fast internet

My friend has Comcast and when he first starts to download it's like 600kbs a second then drops down to 350/375. The 3mb thing is true. I just hope DSL boosts up there speed and uncaps it like with Comcast.

PS. Bellsouth now also offers ADSL Ultra 3meg DL 384 up...I also use to have it, and it exceded the bandwith,,usual DL was about 3.24meg a sec,,In referance to your friends DL slowing there is a fix,,look on the MG site for a download excelerator ,,,see it makes you draw the file info from mirror sites ,,,helps to optimize bandwith,,to keep those rates Up to 6m,,,,,,and keep them up there !!! , Hope this is helpfull, and welcome to the boards, Glenn

I just read the intro to Download Accelerator Plus 7.2 and have a couple questions. Will it integrate with the Firefox (0.9.2) browser, or if not can it be manually deployed? I also notice that it's licensed as Adware. Being a newb (4mo.) I'm not sure what that means. Any help would be appreciated - Thnx
