These are the results from the hijackthis program.
I'm somewhat of a begginer and need a little help.
I was told that the DSO exploit was just a bug in SptBot Search and Destroy and not to worry about it.
I'm not sure what else to do PLEASE help.
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi dazwheaties,

HijackThis is the last step. Also, it should be in a safe folder - C:\Program Files\HijackThis

    You need to start here:
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

Follow the instructions carefully. Make note of the steps you can and cannot complete. Note that you need to be in Safe Mode with System Restore OFF. Enable the viewing of hidden files. The online scans are an important step as well.

Work through this and post back. If you have questions, just ask. If you stick with it, we will too :)

    Best luck,

    PP

    dazwheaties,

As PP said, please read and perform the steps in the sticky tutorials. Also read the HJT tutorial and do not post a log unless we ask for it. And then it must be a .txt file attachment.

    Thank you!

I don't understand what you mean by:
"all the programs worked except..about buster,PLVX2 cleaner, spyware blaster, and Adware personal won't open."

are you saying you could not install these. You don't need about:buster unless you have about:blank or HSA hijack problems.

What I meant was that; Adware SE, I could down load it but it would not open or run. I did this a few times. All the SpyWare blasters that I downloaded read that they were corrupt. And the PLVX2 cleanner did the same as AdWare SE.
    Sorry about the confussion.

Did you download them from our links? Are you sure?

When you click on the Ad-Aware SE installation file, what message do you get?

I am possative I got then from your link.
Adware SE did nothing at all. When I install it I get all the normal stuff lika any other proram. Every thing is fine untill I try and run it. The page dissapears and I go right back to the icon on the desk top.

Ok! That's different than what you said before. I thought you could not even get the install to run. Sounds like you installed it, but it will not run. Is that correct?

Try doing an uninstall, reboot (make sure you reboot). Then do a new install.

    OK that worked great.
I rebooted, ran adware, spybot, and CWS. all of them should be up to date.
The CoolWWWSearch problem seemed to disapear. and the DSO exploit is down too.
What should I do next sir?
    Daz.

This is a well known bug with SpyBot. It's been discussed here many times. As long as you have all of your Windows updates you can ignore this message or you can configure SpyBot itself to ignore DSO Exploit. From Advanced mode by selecting Mode and then Advanced mode. Then select Settings and the in the left column select Ignore Products. In the right window pane click the Security tab and put a check on DSO Exploit to disable it.

Search this forum for DSO Exploit, you will get a lot of matches.
