I have a hard drive that is fairly old. It stopped funtioning. It was set up as a dual boot with a very small partition FAT, and an NTFS that I used, XP.

I tried to use a partiion commander to copy the partition (XP) to a new drive, but the Drive is not recognized on this machine. The new drive is. Does this sound like hardware? or Software.

I put disk in another machine and the bios. said " smart capable but not responding. " bios correctly identifies the hard drive model.

    any utils you might suggest?
