    :confused

What I am trying to accomplish is a dual-boot.

I have installed a second, separate drive on my system that I will use to record and edit professional audio software.
There must be as FEW programs running as possible in order to dedicate most of the RAM and other resources to it.

Basically.... need to have an environment where there is VERY little chance of software conflict and demand on RAM; other than the Audio software which requires the highest use of RAM and absolute LOWEST LATENCY.

I want to keep things like windows updates, anti-virus software, DSL, and a few other programs like that on the dual boot drive.

*Will probably even turn off virus protection in recording/editing mode*

My concern and source of confusion is, how can I keep old and new drive from seeing each other for this dual boot ????

    Almost forgot....

I have already installed XP on the new drive already.

And yes, both drives have windows media player XP.
At somepoint I may have to uninstall and install an XP PRO version, which is another reason I have two different drives.

I've had two XP's on the same drive, in different partitions of course, and they didn't interfere with each other, as long as you have a license for both, I don't see a problem.
