    Hi there,

I'm having a problem getting dual-boot to work on my Lenovo laptop. After installing Ubuntu 19.04, choosing the Windows 7 option in GRUB returned an error saying that winload.exe was missing. I used the bootrec commands in Startup Repair with my Windows CD which fixed the Windows installation, but that caused GRUB to disappear and the PC to boot immediately into Windows. I then followed these steps: https://www.suse.com/support/kb/doc/?id=000016528 to reinstate GRUB... and now I'm back to the winload.exe issue.

    Any suggestions are appreciated!

I guess the reason there have been no offers to help is because dual booting is so old hat, having been virtually eliminated by the capability and advantages of using virtual machines. Take a look at VMWare Workstation Player, free for home use, though VMs do require more capable hardware than dual booting.
