dual boot xp & vista

I've been thinking about putting two ide hard drive in my machine one drive with vista and the second with xp (and how much power would they need because i've only got a 400 watt psu and a video card that needs a 300 watt psu) plus sound card and dvd burner:cool

 

You should be OK power wise, just install Vista after XP is set up and you'll have a dual boot screen. Well, at least you can try Vista before buying it.

 

Thanks, maybe i'll try it, plus my copy of vista is only a upgrade disk so i would have to put xp also on the secord drive then install vista.:cry

Well, since you only have an upgrade disk then I can't help you anymore. IIRC, you don't have to upgrade XP but can do a clean install. I'm not too sure how legit this is so I'll leave here before I get banned.

 

You shouldn't have to install XP, The upgrade Versions will ask that you insert disk containing a previous version of Winblows, only to see that you have one, it does not need to install it nor will it.......

I'm not sure but it should see the other HDD and the OS, either way your covered
