Dual boot??

I just bought a new e-machines pc that came with windows vista. A program I must use for my job is not compatible with vista. Is there a way that I can make a partition and install windows xp on my pc also(daul boot), without removing vista or having to reformat the existing operating system?

 

yeah it's possible. there are several sollutions:
the first one is to install 3d party boot manager, for example os selector and it can detect all oses installed on the system also you can easily install new oses. And it includes disk partitioning software, that you will need to repartition you drive.

the second one is to boot from for example windows xp installation disk and try to install win xp on an another partition, but i'm not sure that you will be able to repartition your drive without data loss, any way you need to use 3d party disk partitioning software.
