From what I have been able to research, that MB was made for Sony for their VAIO desktop systems. Furthermore, it isn't even listed on the ASUS website. Maybe you could try contacting Sony's tech support, or their site, to find out the answer. Sorry I couldn't have been more help!!

hmmm interesting.....ive checked someplace else before about my RAM and it said that the maximum was 2 gigs....well, 4 sounds even better but i think ill check again to get a 3rd opinion. Anyways, when installing RAM should it automatically detect it in Dual Channel? or is there something i'll have to change in the BIOS.

Should take right off..... Just put equal amounts of ram in both channels.....

ok thanks. New question...right now i have 2 256 sticks running in single channel (the computer came with them that way), would they work if I moved them to separate channels?

If you're asking if dual-channel RAM can be used "normally" or vice versa, then the answer is yes.

The RAM is the same as "single channel" RAM. It's the motherboard that enables it as long as it's installed correctly.

would there be any performance gain by doing this?

Yes. Dual channel does give you a nice speed boost. Some times nicer then others depending on the chipset :)....
