HEy guys/gals. I've been having a problem runing two video cards on my system... for about a year now, and i'm finally just fed up, so as a last resort i'm comin here, then buying a dual card.

I'm running a nvidia riva tnt2 and a geforce2mx. The ge force is agp and the riva is pci. Basically here's how it works. If i tell bios my to go to pci for video card, both screens will turn on and i can use both of them in windows. The funny thing though is that in the display manager it shows only one desktop, and that is the agp/geforcemx desktop. It also only allows me to adjust resolution on this monitor, while the pci/riva monitor is glued to a 800x600 resolution. Plus i have general problems that don't occur when i run just one monitor.. i.e. games wont work, some programs only maximize to 800x600? When i go to hardware manager it shows me that the riva/pci's drivers are at a "code 10" and unable to start...although the monitor is actually working......sorta.

So here's what happens when i tell the bios to go to agp for graphics. I start is up and everything runs fine now, except the riva monitor just doesnt work period, it shows a half green screen the entire time. Same driver messages as before, this time they just appear to be accurate.

Now i now the first thing is drivers.. and i've installed every possible driver i can find for these cards... nothing actually helps my situation.. just gives me a crapload of features i dont want.

That's about all i can think to say about the problem... Anybody have any ideas?

I have winXP and a Geforce 5200FX agp and a MX400 pci card and I have no problems. I have my AGP as boot and primary monitor and the PCI as secondary with the desktop extended onto it. The newest Nvidia drivers should work on all cards, or so they claim.

After changing bios to run the agp first, can you see both in display properties? If yes, did you check off "extend my desktop"?
