Dual Monitor Media Player?

Hey! This is the most helpful community I could think of for this issue - I was wondering if anybody knew of a good media player for dual monitor setups.

I am using "ATI File Player" which has a video screen that is detached from the control panel buttons enabling me to keep the buttons on the computer monitor so I can play/pause etc while displaying the actual video on the projector. I know it's possible! But I can't find any solid software to do it :\

So in conclusion, I just want a media player that would display the controls on the computer monitor and the video on the projector screen.
Please, any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!

PS. I've tried VLC but it didn't work may be an issue with the nature of my setup.
