Dual NON-SLI Setup Help!

This is what I have:

4 Monitors
eVGA GTX260
eVGA 9500GT
AMD Phenom II X4 940
ASUS M4A78-E
Windows XP 32Bit

I want the GTX as primary and the 9500GT as secondary, which according to the motherboard, is properly set-up.

I want all four monitors to be functioning, in a NON-SLI environment. How can I go about doing this?

Each card operates on its own, in both the primary or secondary slot and both in the primary. When I put the 260 in prim, and 9500gt in sec, I only get the 260 and two monitors.

 

Well, in theory, this should work, though according to your manual, both will work in x8 mode.

Note these will not work in SLI (or Crossfire) mode unless you connect them together with an SLI interconnect cable.

Is your PSU capable of running both together?

 

if you wanted to those card wont work in SLI

Are you sure windows shows your 9500gt in device manager?

Your PSU should be enough as a 9500gt has very low power requirements.

 

Oh? How do you know that? I don't see his PSU listed anywhere, unless I am missing something. If the PSU is already being taxed by the 260, adding a simple case fan may be more than it can handle - the last straw, if you will.

How many watts is your power supply?
